| Tuesday | 12/8/2009 | FERNDALE | Score:60-27 The 2009/2010 JV Highlanders traveled to "fashionable" Ferndale for the season's opener. After a sluggish start the Highlanders jumped out to a 14 point half time lead, hitting 7 of 12 second quarter free throw attempts. In the third quarter Adams turned up the defensive pressure and expanded thier lead to 27 with 8 different players getting into the scorebook. Zack Littleson led the Highlanders in scoring with 11, followed by Kyle Pelayo with 10 and Neal Lott and James Berger with 9. | |
| Friday | 12/11/2009 | EISENHOWER | Score:41-54 Adams returned home for game 2 on the season feeling good after a 33 point victory over Ferndale. Unfortunately, IKE jumped out to an early 11 point first quarter lead that forced Adams to play-up catch-up. The Highlanders clawed their way back into the game in the second quarter but IKE held the 24-21 first half edge on the back of guard Shane Skerbe's 4 first half 3's. The Highlanders battled the Eagles throughout the second half and kept things close until a late run by IKE put the game out of reach. The Highlanders were led in scoring by Zack Littleson with 17 and Kyle Pelayo with 10. The 2 were 13 of 16 from the free throw line. Ryan Ceisel chipped in 5. | |
| Friday | 12/18/2009 | NOTRE DAME PREP | Score:50-59 For the second game in a row the Highlanders ran into some hot outside shooting as two Irish players combined on 5 first half 3s which offset the strong inside play of Adam's bigs Zack Littleson and Nick Harmon who combined for 14 in the half. The Irish led 34-22 at the intermission. James Berger caught fire in the 4th quarter scoring 12 of his game high 17 points, however, it was not enough to overcome NDP which held off the Adams rally for a 59-50 win. Littleson followed Berger's team lead with 10 points while Harmon added 8 and Jacob Foor 7. | |
| Tuesday | 1/5/2010 | ROCHESTER | Score:33-22 The Highlanders traveled down the road to meet cross town rival Rochester on Tuesday hoping to level its season record @ 2-2. Both teams struggled to get going offensively but the Highlander's had the upper hand on the defensive end of the floor holding the Falcon's scoreless in the 2nd quarter in route to a 7 point halftime lead. Adams continued its hard work on the defensive end of the floor in the second half holding the Falcon's to just 22 points for the game. Kyle Pelayo led the way for Adams with 11 points followed by Zack Littleson with 5 and Jacob Foor with 4. | |
| Friday | 1/8/2010 | STONEY CREEK | Score:36-46 Adams entered Friday night's game looking for 2 straight cross town rivalry wins. The Highlanders made it tough on themsleves with an anemic offensive performance in the first half that saw them score just 9 points and trail Stoney by 11. The young Highlander's continued to work hard defensively and cut into the Cougar lead in the third quarter but Stoney hit 9 4th quarter free throws to hold on for the win. James Berger led the Highlanders with 9 points. Kyle Pelayo added 8, Zack Littleson 7 and Jack Twitty 4. | |

| Friday | 1/15/2010 | ATHENS | Score:49-58 Troy Athens JV team entered Friday night's contest with Adams undefeated on the young season. The young Highlanders gave the undefeated Red Hawks all they could handle in the first half. Behind Zack Littleson's 11 points and James Berger's 7 the Highlanders led by one at the intermission 29- 28. Athens turned up the defensive pressure in the third quarter and opened up an 8 point advantage with a 14-5 third quarter to lead 42-34. The Highlander's settled down in the 4th but could not close the gap and Athens went on to a 58-49 victory. The Highlanders were led in scoring by Zack Littleson with 17 and Jack Twitty with 10 (including 6-6 from the line in the 4th quarter). John Neidhart added 9 and James Berger 7. | |
| Tuesday | 1/19/2010 | TROY | Score:33-40 The Highlander's traveled south on Tuesday to take on the Troy Colts who came in with a considerable size advantage over Adams. The Adams defense got off to a rough start in the games first few possessions as the Colts employed an offense that utilized a lot of screening and resulted in some easy baskets, however, after a few possessions the team adjusted and led 13-12 at the end of 1. A strong second quarter by the Colts saw them lead by 5 at the break. Adams played with a lot of defensive intensity througout the game and held Troy to just 40 points on the evening, however, despite the the excellent effort could not overcome a rough night shooting from the floor. Kyle Pelayo led Adams in scoring with 12 points followed by Zack Littleson with 9. Jack Twitty and James Berger added 3 each. | |
| Thursday | 1/21/2010 | ROCHESTER | Score:44-42 The second meeting of the season between the Falcoins and Highlanders was just what you would hope for in a cross town rival game. A back and forth see saw battle that saw the Highlanders cling to a 2 point lead at the end of each quarter throughout the game. Some big free throws down the stretch by Kyle Pelayo and Neil Lott did the job for the home team. Kyle Pelayo led the way with 12 points while James Berger added 10, Zack Littleson 9 and John Neidhart 7 to pace the winners | |
| Monday | 1/25/2010 | SOUTHFIELD | Score:60-63 Adams entered Monday's game fresh off an exciting victory over cross town rival Rochester. The Blue Jays were dominant in the first half and used their athleticsm to jump out to a commanding 14 point halftime lead 34-20. The Highlanders came roaring back in the third quarter outscoring Southfield 26-13 led by Zack Littleson and Jack Twitty who combined for 22 third quarter points. Adams kept up the strong play in the 4th quarter and jumped out to a 3 point lead, however, the Blue Jays avoided the upset when a contested 3 pointer dropped at the buzzer to send it into overtime. In the extra period the Highlanders jumped out to a quick 4 point lead but could not hold on and Southfield escaped with a 63-60 overtime victory. A great comeback by the Highlanders who at halftime looked like they were in for a long night. Zack Littleson led the Highlander attack with 21 points while Jack Twitty hit for a season high 17. Kyle Pelayo added 9 and James Berger 8. | |
| Thursday | 1/28/2010 | LAKE ORION | Score:46-63 The Highlanders jumped out to an early 7 point lead over the hometown Dragons behind two 3's from Ryan Ceisel, however, the Dragons picked up the pace in the second quarter to lead 31-26 at the break. Adams could only muster one 3rd quarter field goal and despite getting to the line 19 times in the 2nd half could not close the gap and fell 63-46 to Lake Orion. The Dragons have only been beaten once on the season. Zack Littleson led the team in scoring with 11 points followed by Kyle Pelayo with 9. Ryan Ceisel and Jacob Foor added 6 and Jack Twitty 5 | |
| Tuesday | 2/2/2010 | SEAHOLM | Score:43-25 The Adams Highlanders JV squad bounced back from a rough outing against Lake Orion on Monday with an 18 point victory over the visting Maples from Seaholm. The win was made possible by a strong defensive showing by the Highlanders who played a very effective match up zone for much of the game. The Highlanders led by 11 at the break and stretched the lead in the second half. Zack Littleson led a balanced Highlander attack with 10 points and 12 rebounds along with 4 blocked shots. Kyle Pelayo and Jacob Foor each added 8 while John Neidhart had 7 and James Berger 6. Nick Harmon and Jack Twitty had 3 rebounds each. | |
| Friday | 2/5/2010 | GP SOUTH | Score:57-65 Looking to make it two in row the Highlanders took on GP South on Friday. The game was tight throughout. With 16 seconds remaining in regulation Jack Twitty hooked up with Zack Littleson on a give and go to send the game into overtime. A Littleson runner on a set play rimmed out and the game went to a second overtime. Unfortunately for the Highlanders the zebras's whistle blowing caught up with them as GP South shot an unbeliveable 41 free throws in route to the double overtime win. Zack Littleson and James Berger registered 11 points each to lead the Highlanders. Kyle Pelayo had 10 and Jack Twitty 9. Littleson and Twitty had 5 rebounds a piece and Littleson had 4 assists and Ryan Ceisel 3. | |
| Tuesday | 2/9/2010 | BERKLEY | Score:42-38 The Young Highlanders ventured south in a driving snow storm to take on the Berkley Bears in the first meeting between the two schools for the year. The first half was a low scoring affiar that saw Adams jump out to a slim 3 point lead at the break. The JV Highlanders jumped on the Bears early in the second half and stretched their lead to twelve before Berkley switched to a full court press that allowed them to claw back into the game. In the end the Highlanders held on for a 42-38 victory keyed by some strong defense and good foul shooting (23-31 as a team). Zack Littleson led the Highlander attack with 16 including 14 of 18 from the charity stripe. John Neidhart added 9 and Kyle Pelayo 5. LIttleson had 7 rebounds and Jack Twitty grabbed 4 | |
| Friday | 2/12/2010 | STONEY CREEK | Score:27-36 The JV Highlanders took to the floor on Friday night in the final meeting with cross town rival Stoney Creek for the year. Stoney hit a barrage of three point field goal attempts throughout the game which was too much for Adams to overcome. The Cougars fired up over 25 threes in the game and hit enough to lead them to victory against an Adams team that could not muster enough offense on the night to pull it out. Zack Littleson led the Highlander attack with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Neil Lott added 6. Jack Twitty had 3 rebounds and 3 assists and Ryan Ceisel had 3 assists. | |
| Tuesday | 2/16/2010 | ATHENS | Score:45-56 Troy Athens JV team entered Tuesday's game with just one loss on the season. Adams battled the Red Hawks tough in the first meeting between the two teams. After getting off to rough early start the Highlanders jumped out to a six point 1st quarter lead and tralied by just 3 at the half. Despite keeping Troy Athens within striking distance throughout the second half the young Highlanders came up a little short. Zack Littleson led Adams with 13 points, Ryan Ceisel and Kyle Pelayo added 7 each and John Neidhart and James Berger 6. Littleson had 10 rebounds. Kyle Pelayo had 4 assists and Jacob Foor and Jack Twitty 3 each. | |
| Friday | 2/19/2010 | TROY | Score:45-35 The Highlanders were looking to avenge an earlier defeat at the hands of the Troy Colts when they took to the hardwood on Friday. This time the young Highlanders controlled the game from beginning to end, leading at the end of each quarter. James Berger's 3 first half 3 pointers helped Adams jump out to an 11 point halftime lead. The second half featured some strong defense and timely free throw shooting as Adams went on to the win. Zack Littleson and Jamers Berger led Adams in scoring with 11 point each. John Neidhart added 8 and Kyle Pelayo 7. Littleson led the team with 8 rebounds while Berger grabbed 3. Ryan Ceisel had 3 assista and Littleson 4 blocked shots. | |
| Tuesday | 2/23/2010 | CLARKSTON | Score:41-50 As has been a problem at times throughout the year the young Highlanders got off to a slow start Tuesday being held scoreless in the first quarter. Adams finally got going in the second quarter and clawed back into the game going into the break trailing by just 6. Both teams picked up the scoring pace in the second half and the Wolves held on to for the 50-41 victory. Zack Littleson led the Highlanders with 19, including 9-10 from the charity stripe. Kyle Pelayo and James Berger added 7 each and John Neidhart 5. The Highlanders were 16-18 as a team from the free throw line for the game. | |
| Friday | 2/26/2010 | BERKLEY | Score:57-58 The last time these two teams met Adams jumped out to a big third quarter lead but could not put the Bears away and the game ended in a narrow Adams win. This one was close throughout. Adams led by 2 at the intermission and by 6 at the end of three but allowed the Bears to hang around and a late Adams miscue put the Bears at the line for two free throws that sent the game to overtime. A contested look by Jack Twitty at the buzzer rimmed out and Berkley eeked out the one point overtime win. Zack Littleson led the Higlanders with 16 points followed by James Berger and John Neidhart with 12 each. Neidhart scored 10 on free throws. Littleson had 8 rebounds and Neidhart 6. Berger led with 4 assists and Twitty added 3. | |
| Tuesday | 3/2/2010 | LAKE ORION | Score:50-49 Still stinging from a tough one point loss in overtime to Berkley on Friday the Highlanders took to the court against a Lake Orion team that was 14-4 on the season and who easily handled Adams the first time around. Adams kept it close in the first half behind 8 points from Nick Harmon. The Higlanders came roaring back in the 4th quarter after trailing the Dragons by 7 at the end of three. Jack Twitty stood at the line with 5.3 seconds remaining and the game knotted at 49 and calmly drained the second of two free throws to give Adams the one point victory. Zack Littleson led Adams with 13 points while Nick Harmon and Kyle Pelayo added 10 each. Pelayo led Adams with 4 rebounds. Littleson and Ryan Ceisel each had 3 assists. | |
| Friday | 3/5/2010 | SEAHOLM | Score:49-43 The JV Highlanders have made a point of keeping things tight lately with their last two games being decided by one point. After beating up Seaholm earlier in the year by 18 this game was tight throughout. In the end the Highlanders came out on top largely as a result of some outstanding second half free throw shooting. The Highlanders were 15-18 from the line and Kyle Pelayo a perfect 9-9. Adams went on to down the Maples by 6. Kyle Pelayo led the Highlander attack with 13 followed by Zack Littleson and Ryan Ceisel with 10 each. Littleson had 7 boards, Jack Twitty and Kyle Pelayo 3 each. Littleson and Twitty 2 assists a piece. The JV Highlanders finish the season with an 8-12 record. | |
