Stoney Creek Cougars started
off with a quick seven points before the Highlanders were able to score.
Then it was “Who let the dogs out”. Adams outscored Stoney in every
quarter. Luke Stoebick lit them up in the first quarter with two shots
from beyond the arc and two block shots and three steals for the night.
In the second quarter as the Highlanders continued to press the Cougars
Jimmy Friel came alive with six points in the paint. The Cougars got to
the free throw line for seven shots but were still outscored 18 to 13 in
the quarter. The third quarter had the defense tightening up and forcing
Stoney into throwing up three pointers with no success and only shooting
twenty one percent, obtaining only 5 points. On the other end of the
court Adams shot eighty one percent putting in 16 points. The fourth
quarter continued with everybody getting in the game and continuing the
defensive pressure. There were a lot of trips to the free throw line for
both teams. Jake Forhan was perfect from the free throw line and has not
missed a free throw all year. Justin Dustin was perfect from field with
his two point shots shooting five for five for the night. Tyler Newsom
continued his normal game average point contribution with fifteen. Adams
reduced their turnovers by half this game and out rebounded Stoney 23 to
19. Highlanders succeeded in another victory with a balanced attack of
nine players scoring and full court pressure. Final Score 68 to 42. |
