Adams JV takes control to beat Southfield 62 - 59.

The Highlanders played their best game of the season to defeat a very good Southfield team. Adams executed a good game plan that was patient in breaking the Southfield ½ court trap and then aggressively attacking the basket. In the first quarter, the Highlanders broke the Blue Jays pressure and found John Zekaj in the middle floor who then took control by attacking the basket. John had 6 of his game high 14 points in the first period. Adams stayed aggressive in the second quarter taking the ball to the hole, getting fouled and converting 12 – 15 free throws. The Highlanders took a 3 point lead into half-time.

Southfield came out hot to start the second half and knocked down two 3 pointers to take the lead. The Blue Jays also changed up their half court defense by falling back into a zone which caused the Highlanders problems. After getting caught back on it’s heals in the third quarter, Adams came out aggressive again in the fourth quarter to take back control of the game. Andrew Loscko had 6 of his 10 points in a critical part of the game when Adams needed someone to step-up. The Blue Jays kept coming after Adams , but the Highlanders were cool under pressure and did not panic. This was a very good team win that saw 11 players score for Adams .
