Rochester Adams Highlanders get the 2005-2006 Season started with a win over Lutheran Northwest Crusaders by a score of 44 to 40.

While the Highlanders got off to a slow start shooting and had trouble breaking the Crusaders ½ court trap defense and could only manage 4 points in the first quarter, Adams turned-up the intensity in the second quarter with full court pressure and forced the Crusaders to turn the ball over which resulted in Adams fast break points.   Adams outscored the Crusaders in the second quarter 15 to 5 and took a two point lead into half-time.

Adams came out a bit sluggish again in the third quarter and got into foul trouble, but held on to a one point lead after three periods. Adams responded with its best offensive quarter in the fourth by scoring 16 points. Although Adams shot only 7 for 20 free throws, a couple of key forced turnovers by the Adams defense and fast break baskets along with important free throws down the stretch by JD Osborne sealed the game.
