West Bloomfield 45

THE HIGHLANDER EXPRESS KEEPS ON ROLLING

Adams improved their overall record to 6-2 by downing the West Bloomfield
Lakers 50-45 in a non-divisional game. The Highlanders led most of the game,
but found themselves down briefly in the second half, but rallied for the
victory, it what was termed a "circus atmosphere" by Coach Hall. Between the
games being delayed as we waited for replacement officials to arrive, and the
varsity game officials not answering the horn at the start of the second half,
and what could be best described as a "hug-fest" between one of the officials
and the Laker's coach,  indeed, all we were missing were the elephants. Both
teams appeared as though semester finals were on their minds, as turnovers,
missed shots and defensive lapses turned the West Bloomfield big top into a
"House of Horrors." But by the time the final curtain fell and Barnum & Bailey
packed up their things, Adams notched their fifth straight victory. Senior Dan
Bruce led all scorers with 14, with fellow seniors Kuhl and Kipke adding 10
each, with Wilson chipping in 9 and Tolomei 1. Sophomores Petrie and Newsome
had 3 a piece. The Highlander Express next stop is at Southfield on 1-14-05.
