Fresh off winning the Holiday Classic Tournament, the Highlanders continued
their winning ways in convincing fashion, by beating the Troy Colts 59-46 at
the house of Troy. The game was close through three quarters, but sparked by a
massive blocked shot by Ryan Kuhl, with the ball ending up in the Troy student
section, Adams pulled away in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Adams was led by the scoring and ball handling of Dan
Bruce, who tallied 26 points on the night. Troy actually scored the first basket
of the game, but two quick buckets by Tyler Newsome, who ended with 7 points,
put the Highlanders in front to stay. Rounding out Adams scoring was Wilson with
11, Kuhl with 7,
Tolomei with 5, and Kipke and Humphrey with 2 a piece. Adams improved their
overall record to 4-2 as they ready themselves for league play. They stay on
the road as they travel to Troy Athens on Friday, January 7, 2005.
